In this Arduino workshop we will give you a comprehensive introduction to the platform, the programming environment, how to make full use of the a variety of inputs and outputs on the board and how you can use input data to control other programs on your computer. We will be learning through fun, practical examples.

The cost of the workshop includes an Arduino Uno, USB power lead, breadboard and all the components required for the workshop. All this is yours to take home after the workshop.

You will need to bring a laptop along with you on each night.

This workshop will give musicians an all encompassing introduction to the world of electronics and DIY music.

For the first part of this workshop (22nd May) we will introduce participants to the basics of electricity, components and what they do. We then introduce participants to the tools and skills you will need for DIY electronics including the proper way to solder. We finish up the night by building a pocket sized, portable guitar amplifier.

Dylan Evans, behavioural scientist and author of Risk Intelligence: How to Live with Uncertainty calls it "a special kind of intelligence for thinking about risk and uncertainty". Essentially, people with a higher Risk Intelligence are better at processing chance and probability.
