More about the panel:
- Lisa Dawn Hamilton, Graduate student in the Sexual Psychophysiology Lab, University of Texas Lisa Dawn's research interests are with respect to the connection between hormones and sexual behavior. She is currently focused on two distinct research tracks- the relationship between environmental/behavioral influences and hormones and how the two interact to affect sexual behavior. In particular, the effects of stress on various hormonal, physiological, and behavioral outcomes; and the neural correlates of monogamy and non-monogamy via fMRI technologies.
- Luke O’Neill, Professor in the School of Biochemistry and Immunology, TCD Winner of the 2009 RDS Irish Times Boyle Medal for Scientific Excellence for his pioneering work on the molecular understanding of innate immunity and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
- David Perrett, Professor in the School of Psychology, University of St. Andrews Currently, Dave and his team are conducting an online experiment that measures attraction in relation to upbringing through the adolescent years. Specifically, they have found differences in attraction to faces depending on single or mixed sex schooling. They have found this for school kids, but have now set up to find out how long lasting the effects might be last beyond school days.
David Perrett received the British Psychological Society President's Award (2000) and the Golden Brain Award (2002). - Anne Sexton, Sex columnist with Hot Press magazine
