I'ts been more than three years since Science Gallery launched back in February 2008, and today we launched our 2010 annual review, which looks back at a very exciting year for Science Gallery.
What happened in 2010? We produced LOVE LAB, BIORHYTHM, GREEN MACHINES, VISCERAL and HYPERBOLIC CROCHET CORAL REEF (YouTube links).
We had well over 200,000 visitors, nearly 150 events, over 100,000 views on Youtube, and 655 print media articles.

There were 85 exhibition participants from 85 countries, and 19 TCD researchers participated in Science Gallery exhibitions.
All in all, 2010 was a very good year for Science Gallery!
The Minister for Research and Innovation, Sean Sherlock TD, officially launched Science Gallery's Annual Review for 2010 at an event today, along with Science Gallery Board Chairman Chris Horn and Science Gallery Director Michael John Gorman.
Minister Sherlock said, “As a regular visitor to the Gallery I have seen first hand the positive impact it has on the public perception of science and scientific endeavour. It is an excellent example of collaboration between Government, its agencies and private sector sponsors and it has been a very welcome addition to Ireland’s science outreach capacity generating interest as it does in a variety of scientific themes.”
The minister further added, “Next year will be an exciting year for science outreach activities in Ireland, as we look forward to hosting the EuroScience Open Forum City ofScience 2012 in Dublin, with the Science Gallery sure to play a pivotal role in the many activities that will take place over the course of the year.”
